  4. cslewis623 says:

@Poloman134 the biggest SHOCK, not upset in world cup hisotyr.

  5. tanielterry says:

Korea (both north and south) deserved to won the World Cup someday.
Go for both NORTH KOREA and SOUTH KOREA!!

  6. zziicckk01 says:

I wonder if this current Italing world cup (2010) campaign is considered to be more of a catastrophe than in WC ’66. At least back then, the Italians managed to beat a very good Chilean team and made a game of it against N. Korea with 9 fully fit men on the pitch. The ’66 team seemed to be a much more determined Italian team than the one that couldn’t even record a win against what was considered to be the weakest group in WC 2010.

  7. BoundInChains says:

Italy has the unfortunate experience of being knocked in the heels by first time qualifiers

  8. babystinky says:

One thing about the Koreans. They are always in better shape physically. They can run like mad dogs forever.

  9. JFBridge says:

Is that Frank Bough commentating before he got a taste for the marching powder? (Or should that be sniff?)

  10. newzealandnz says:

At lease you can hear it! with the horns!!

  11. JesusSanchez17 says:

did ya kno he was a dentist

  12. SonsoftheProphets says:

WTF! The didn’t just win by fluke, they had many chances to score

  13. marcol68 says:

A wonderful adventure for the North-Coreans! :) Can It happen tomorrow?

  14. sullysquay says:

North Korea should have scored at least one more. Italians restricted to long shots really.

  15. HasaniSabbo says:

wow a bunch of no names from north korea (i mean no disrespect to the north korean players) beat giacinto facchetti, giacomo bulgharelli, sandro mazolla, tarcisio burghnich, aristide guarneri, enrico albertosi to name a few – all the leading lights of european football at the time. my hat is off to you koreans, i am rooting for both south and north in this world cup. you guys always get the italians’ number. respect from a fan of football from tajikistan.

  16. HasaniSabbo says:

capitalist south korea beat italy in 2002 on the back of a very poor refereeing
communist north korea won it fair and square in 1966 against the same italians

  17. asianoutcast87 says:

Haha. Wat’s Catania doing still having Morimoto. They need a Korean player. It seems like all Italians have trouble with Koreans. Unfortunately, even my precious Pirlo and Ac Milan was shut out by Park Ji Sung. :[

  18. AalbrittoYT says:

Great! It´s time now for North Korea to beat and send home Brazil.

  19. VampiricGoodbye says:

Yea, considering Italy is better than England, no matter how bitter it is to say it. By a team that barely even reaches the World Cup Stage all of sudden comes on and beats a world-class team. A 3rd World Nation at that. Yes, it a HUGE FUCKIN UPSET!

  20. juvemagicthebest says:

italia 1968= vittoria italia agli europei
messico 70=vittoria brasile ma secondo posto italia
    spagna 82 vittoria italia
    usa 94 secondo posto italia
    italia 90: 3 posto
germania 2006=italia again ahaahahahahahahahah shut up english motherfucker korena’s motherfucker we are the best shhhhh ahaahahahahahahh

  21. Diouri28 says:

at the time italy had won 2 world cups, and boasted some of the best players ever in their squad- whereas nobody knew anything about north korea (and they still dont!)… so i reckon the fact they won is more impressive tbh

  22. phillipm1 says:

This is a great piece of history! Thank you for sharing!

  23. JBXyooj says:

I think so… a third world country a country who has no contact with the outside for its team or people…

Yet they beat a team like Italy… I think yes.

  24. expedition16 says:

Italy looked hideous with black shorts. I’m glad today they wear either white or blue.

  25. NymphZoic68 says:

4.40.. come on! it’s going to go in in a minute!
    hahaha..
